Welcome to Scrollary. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Scrollary iOS app and scrollary.cloud (together, "Scrollary," "we," "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Scrollary, you agree to these Terms — if you don't agree, please don't use the app.

01 What Scrollary Is

Scrollary is a vocabulary-learning app that pauses apps you choose ("gated apps") until you've learned a few words, then grants you a limited amount of time to use them. It's a screen-time habit tool built around a small, non-punitive learning loop — not a parental-control product or a content filter.

02 Eligibility

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Scrollary, and at least 13 years old. If the law where you live requires a parent or guardian to consent to these Terms on your behalf, they need to agree to them for you.

03 Screen Time Permission

Scrollary uses Apple's Family Controls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity frameworks so you can choose which apps to gate and to apply or lift a Screen Time "shield" on them based on the time you earn. This enforcement runs at the operating-system level and persists across app restarts, device reboots, and offline use.

You can end this enforcement at any time by revoking Scrollary's Screen Time permission in iOS Settings, or by deleting the app. Scrollary is meant to be friction, not a lock.

04 Your Device, Not an Account

Scrollary doesn't use accounts, logins, usernames, or passwords. The app identifies your device with an anonymous, randomly generated identifier stored in your device's Keychain. See our Privacy Policy for what that identifier is used for.

05 Subscriptions & Billing

Some features may require a paid subscription, billed and managed entirely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Pricing, billing interval, and auto-renewal terms are disclosed before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period — manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions.

Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's own refund policies. We don't process payments or issue refunds directly.

06 Content

The words, definitions, example sentences, quizzes, and other learning content in Scrollary, along with the app's design, code, and branding, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. You may use them only through the app, for your own personal, non-commercial learning.

07 Acceptable Use

  • Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app.
  • Don't use automated tools, scripts, or multiple devices/identifiers to artificially inflate points, earned time, or progress.
  • Don't use Scrollary in a way that violates applicable law or infringes anyone else's rights.

08 No Warranty

Scrollary is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate — vocabulary content, timing mechanics, and Screen Time enforcement all depend in part on Apple's frameworks and your device's own behavior, which are outside our control.

09 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scrollary and its creators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including missed screen-time limits, lost progress, or subscription issues. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any.

10 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Scrollary after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11 Termination

You can stop using Scrollary at any time by deleting the app. Because there's no account, there's nothing further to "close" — see our Privacy Policy for how to request deletion of the anonymous data tied to your device.

12 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country where its law gives you that right.
